This life drawing course aims to develop the student's observational skills, fostering an understanding of the fundamental grammar of drawing technique.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8
Morning
Theoretical introduction with an overview of the history of Italian drawing and its application to painting and sculpture; exercises copying from Old Master drawings and anatomical models.
Afternoon
Life drawing with a model.
Establishing drawing techniques and material usage.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9
Morning
Continuing work from anatomical models and copying reproductions of Old Master artworks.
Afternoon
Continuing life drawing with a model, focusing specifically on anatomy—specifically muscle form and movement.
Exploration of chiaroscuro (light and shadow), focusing on achieving the full range of values from deepest darks to brightest highlights.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10
Morning
Drawing the model in quick, dynamic poses; spontaneous sketching. The second part features drawing exercises using sepia, sanguine, charcoal, and white pencils on ivory or gray paper.
An explanation of how to study a painting or sculpture through drawing.
In the evening, the works created by the students will be exhibited, followed by the presentation of certificates of participation and a final toast.
The aim is to offer participants a brief yet immersive experience that connects them with aspects of the great Italian artistic tradition, focusing specifically on Renaissance and 17th-century drawing techniques. It provides a means to effectively express one's imagination and vision of reality on paper.
